This listing gives collectors another look at a 2006 Alex Ovechkin card that is currently on eBay. The card number is PSA. For condition, eBay currently shows Ungraded. The current eBay price is USD 799.99, listed by sportscardqueen.
Where This Card Fits in the Hobby
This card has a clear place in the player's hobby story. Alex Ovechkin cards gained another historical anchor when he became the NHL career goals leader, adding importance to his rookie era and milestone related issues.
How to Identify This Card
For collectors comparing copies, this listing should be judged as the specific 2006 Alex Ovechkin card PSA and not simply as another Alex Ovechkin card. The listing provides useful identifiers including card number PSA and manufacturer Sports Illustrated.
Using the exact year, set and card number gives a much cleaner comparison than relying on the player name alone, especially when a player appears in many products during the same season. As a modern era card, it should be compared with cards from the same release whenever possible.

Value Factors to Compare
Before deciding whether the current price is strong or expensive, compare the characteristics that can materially change what collectors are willing to pay. The current listing is asking USD 799.99, so these factors are the best starting point for checking that ask against other copies.
- The 2006 release and how much collector demand exists for that year.
- Whether comparable sales match card number PSA.
- The raw condition shown in the photos, including centering, corners, edges and surface.
Condition Points Worth Inspecting
For a raw copy, zoom in on the front and back photos before buying. Check centering, all four corners, edge wear, surface scratches, print lines, dents and any marks that may be hard to see in a single photo. Ask for additional images when an important area is hidden by glare or a sleeve.
For a modern card, inspect glossy surfaces carefully because scratches, dimples, print lines and small edge defects can be easier to miss in listing photos. Chrome style and foil finishes can show flaws differently depending on lighting. eBay currently labels the listing condition as Ungraded, but the photos and grading information should carry more weight than the marketplace condition field alone.
What the Recent Market Shows
At $799.99, this listing gives one current price point, but the exact match history is still too thin for a responsible six month trend calculation.
Collector Checklist
Before looking at the price, it helps to note a few basics. Sport is listed as Ice Hockey. Raw cards can look very different in hand, so the listing photos matter a lot. Pay close attention to the corners, edges, centering and surface condition.
Condition Points to Check
Common reasons a card from this type of issue can grade lower include surface scratches, print lines, dents or stains, factory print defects that affect overall eye appeal and centering on the front and back.
For numeric context, PSA publishes an approximate PSA 10 centering tolerance of 55/45 on the front and 75/25 on the reverse. PSA describes a Mint 9 as centered no worse than 60/40, so a small centering shift can be enough to separate a 9 from a 10 even before surface, corner and edge flaws are considered.
PSA grading standards. Population figures change as additional cards are graded.
How to Compare This Card With Recent Sales
When researching a Alex Ovechkin card, start narrow and widen the search only when exact matches are scarce. For this listing, try to match year 2006, card number PSA and similar raw condition.
Use sold prices before active asking prices when both are available. An active listing tells you what a seller wants, while a completed sale gives a better signal of what a buyer actually paid. Compare the current USD 799.99 ask with that matched group rather than with a broad search for every Alex Ovechkin card.
