Price History and Market Trend
This listing is currently asking $576.00. Fewer than two reliable matching price points are available, so the plugin is not inventing a six month average.
What Makes This Listing Specific
This page focuses on the exact 2020 2020 Leaf Superlative Sports Lionel Messi card TS 16, rather than treating every Lionel Messi card as the same collectible. The listing provides useful identifiers including set 2020 Leaf Superlative Sports, card number TS 16 and manufacturer Leaf.
Using the exact year, set and card number gives a much cleaner comparison than relying on the player name alone, especially when a player appears in many products during the same season. As a current era card, it should be compared with cards from the same release whenever possible.
Where This Card Fits in the Hobby
This issue matters because both the subject and the set affect how collectors compare it. Lionel Messi cards draw global demand from club and Argentina collectors, with his 2022 World Cup title adding another major layer to his soccer card market. The 2020 2020 Leaf Superlative Sports release gives this card a specific place in the player's collecting timeline, which helps narrow meaningful price comparisons.
How to Find Better Price Comparisons
When researching a Lionel Messi card, start narrow and widen the search only when exact matches are scarce. For this listing, try to match year 2020, set 2020 Leaf Superlative Sports, card number TS 16 and similar raw condition.
Look at several recent completed sales instead of relying on one unusually high or low transaction. A small group of close matches is normally more useful than a long list of loosely related cards. Compare the current USD 576.00 ask with that matched group rather than with a broad search for every Lionel Messi card.

How to Judge the Copy in the Photos
For a raw copy, zoom in on the front and back photos before buying. Check centering, all four corners, edge wear, surface scratches, print lines, dents and any marks that may be hard to see in a single photo. Ask for additional images when an important area is hidden by glare or a sleeve.
For a modern card, inspect glossy surfaces carefully because scratches, dimples, print lines and small edge defects can be easier to miss in listing photos. Chrome style and foil finishes can show flaws differently depending on lighting. eBay currently labels the listing condition as Ungraded, but the photos and grading information should carry more weight than the marketplace condition field alone.
What Could Hold Back the Grade
The main grade pressure points to inspect on this kind of card are edge chipping on thicker card stock, soft or compressed corners around thick premium stock and surface indentations, scratches or foil damage.
For numeric context, PSA publishes an approximate PSA 10 centering tolerance of 55/45 on the front and 75/25 on the reverse. PSA describes a Mint 9 as centered no worse than 60/40, so a small centering shift can be enough to separate a 9 from a 10 even before surface, corner and edge flaws are considered.

Value Factors to Compare
Before deciding whether the current price is strong or expensive, compare the characteristics that can materially change what collectors are willing to pay. The current listing is asking USD 576.00, so these factors are the best starting point for checking that ask against other copies.
- The 2020 release and how much collector demand exists for that year.
- Demand for the 2020 Leaf Superlative Sports set compared with other issues of the same player.
- Whether comparable sales match card number TS 16.
- The raw condition shown in the photos, including centering, corners, edges and surface.
- The listed card features, especially Memorabilia.
Collector Checklist
There are a couple details that stand out in the listing. Sport is listed as Multi Sport and features include Memorabilia. With a raw sports card, the photos do most of the talking. Look closely at centering, corners, edges and the surface before deciding whether the asking price makes sense.
Who Might Collect This Card
How much this card matters to a collection depends on the goal. A player collector may value the release differently from a set builder or someone assembling a run of graded copies. The 2020 Leaf Superlative Sports set gives this copy a clear place to compare against other cards from the same product.
Before buying, decide whether you want the exact card shown, the best condition you can afford, or simply one representative copy. That decision can keep you from paying a premium for a grade, parallel or feature that does not matter to your collection.
Buying With Future Resale in Mind
If you may resell 2020 2020 Leaf Superlative Sports Lionel Messi card TS 16 later, save the purchase record and keep the card protected from new wear. Clear documentation makes it easier to describe exactly what you own when you create a future listing.
A strong resale listing should make the card easy to identify. Include the exact release details, honest condition information and enough photos for a buyer to judge corners, edges, centering and surface. The current listing is from seller thecardshop518 with feedback shown as 98.7% positive, 1,571 feedback, which gives you one example of how the card is being presented today. The current buying format is Buy It Now, so remember that auction results and fixed asking prices are not directly interchangeable when you review future comps.
