What Makes This Listing Specific
For collectors comparing copies, this listing should be judged as the specific 2007 2007 Upper Deck Premier Derek Jeter card 85 and not simply as another Derek Jeter card. The listing provides useful identifiers including set 2007 Upper Deck Premier, card number 85 and manufacturer Upper.
Matching those details before checking prices helps avoid comparing this card with a different release that only looks similar in a search result. As a modern era card, it should be compared with cards from the same release whenever possible.
Where This Card Fits in the Hobby
The appeal here is more specific than the player name alone. Derek Jeter cards combine Yankees demand, a Hall of Fame career and a well followed 1993 rookie class that gives collectors many distinct set choices. Upper Deck has a long place in modern sports card history, and exact year, card number and insert or parallel status are important when comparing copies.
Condition Points Worth Inspecting
This copy is listed as BGS 7.5. The grade gives a useful shorthand, but it should not be the only thing you inspect. Check the label details, certification number, holder condition and the card itself through the plastic because eye appeal can vary between two cards with the same numeric grade.
For a modern card, inspect glossy surfaces carefully because scratches, dimples, print lines and small edge defects can be easier to miss in listing photos. Chrome style and foil finishes can show flaws differently depending on lighting. eBay currently labels the listing condition as Graded, but the photos and grading information should carry more weight than the marketplace condition field alone.
What Could Hold Back the Grade
The main grade pressure points to inspect on this kind of card are corner wear that can keep an otherwise clean card out of the top grade, edge and corner chipping, especially on darker borders and centering from the original factory cut.
What the Recent Market Shows
At $585.00, this listing gives one current price point, but the exact match history is still too thin for a responsible six month trend calculation.
Value Factors to Compare
Two cards with the same player name can sell for very different amounts. For 2007 2007 Upper Deck Premier Derek Jeter card 85, the following details are the ones worth matching first. The current listing is asking USD 585.00, so these factors are the best starting point for checking that ask against other copies.
- The 2007 release and how much collector demand exists for that year.
- Demand for the 2007 Upper Deck Premier set compared with other issues of the same player.
- Whether comparable sales match card number 85.
- The BGS 7.5 grade and how many comparable copies are available.
- The listed card features, especially 14/25, Serial Numbered.
Building a Useful Comp Set
The cleanest way to price this card is to begin with exact matches and avoid mixing unrelated versions into the same average. For this listing, try to match year 2007, set 2007 Upper Deck Premier, card number 85 and grade BGS 7.5.
Use sold prices before active asking prices when both are available. An active listing tells you what a seller wants, while a completed sale gives a better signal of what a buyer actually paid. Compare the current USD 585.00 ask with that matched group rather than with a broad search for every Derek Jeter card.
